Bathroom Remodel & Addition

Home built in 1908. We added a master bathroom and a walk-in closet on top of a flat roof, using an already existing door as the entry point to the bathroom. There are many challenges that come in doing an addition on a home from the early 20th century: tying in new construction techniques with old, maintaining the integrity of the aesthetic, and having a working knowledge of building practices in that era. Without knowing precisely what the framing looked like until demolition, we were able to overcome all these challenges and successfully created a space that looked as if it had always been there. We tiled the shower and floor,  installed a new vanity and fixtures, tied in the old flat roof membrane with the old, and matched the character of the exterior design accents with the existing.
